Omair Haque of London lamented how social media is permeated with "endless bickering, the predictable snark, [and] the general atmosphere of little violences." Too often, that sounds like the church! I'm thinking that Jesus had something else in mind for his people; that maybe we should honor each other Just As We Are. No snark allowed.

October 4, 2015: We observed the Feast of St. Francis today. The second service was the Blessing of the Animals, which was supposed to be outside. 20 minutes before we were scheduled to start, a squall started blowing up, so everyone grabbed a chair, a piece of equipment, and their pets, and we dashed into the Parish Hall. It was great, chaotic fun, though the aroma of damp dog was noticeable.
