Our planet is a lifeboat in a sea of stars. The church is a lifeboat in a sea of humanity. God calls us to start living the Reign of God, not after we've been rescued, but while we are still In The Lifeboat.

The Episcopal marriage ceremony says that marriage symbolizes the union of Christ and his church. What if we took that symbol seriously in our parish life and knew that our church was full of people who were eager and willing to be A Witness to Our Lives?

Heroes aren't perfect superbuddies in spandex, they are real life people who are the wind beneath our wings. In baptism, we become heroes TO each other and FOR the whole world. Imagine a world where people see Christians coming and immediately think, You're My Hero!

Christmas blasts the boundary between heaven and earth, divinity and humanity. Epiphany celebrates that, as well as one more thing: Blasting Boundaries between the tribes of humanity. Gentile and Jew are joined in one family in Christ.
