You're Hired! - SERMON

Is the God revealed in Christ REALLY what humanity wants? We tend to admire the superhero type, and Jesus doesn't meet those needs at all. Dare we let God be the one who defines what divinity is truly about? Listen to the sermon here, or read it…See More

Quantum Trinitarian Dancing - SERMON

I've read Quantum Physics for Dummies, which makes me just knowledgeable enough to admit I don't know much about the subject at all. That didn't stop me from trying to bridge the science/faith gap on Sunday using my low-level understanding of physics and my better-than-average learning in theology. Listen to the sermon here or read it …See More

What's the Use? - SERMON

In our utilitarian culture, when we can no longer justify the room we take up on this planet by being useful, what's the use of existing? This fear of being useless and worthless is behind a lot of depression and despair, especially among the elderly. Yet, God created us out of God's very breath as human beings, not human doings or human doings. Maybe the only thing we ever need to do to delight the Holy Spirit is Just. Breathe. Listen to the sermon…See More

Don't Talk About It - SERMON

Life makes us anxious. We dread what MIGHT happen and sometimes go to great lengths to avoid even thinking about it. Yet, in other ways, we almost invite this fear into our lives because we fixate on what is bad and wrong in the world, getting caught up in political dramas and world events beyond our control.  To CALM DOWN and find a peaceful center, we need to learn from Paul and the other apostles: Focus on what is good, and give thanks for it.Listen to the sermon …See More

The Cross and the Companion - SERMON

I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU ORPHANED. There is a health epidemic in America: people who feel lonely, abandoned. The antidote is the Cross. The true power of the Cross is that, through the presence of the Companion, the Spirit of Truth, we are intimately and eternally connected with the divine, with each other, and with ourselves. We are never alone. Read the sermon…See More

Cornerstones - SERMON by Deacon Cindy Roehl

If the cornerstone is strong and straight, even and level, the rest of the building will be, too. Making Christ our cornerstone is the one way to be grounded and centered on the solid rock that can withstand all afflictions. Listen to Cindy's sermon here.See More

A Boat on Seething Seas - SERMON

The Church is supposed to be a boat bringing the miracle of hope, healing, and love to a world foundering in seething seas of our shattered, fearful, death-saturated lives, even if we don't like the other people in the world - or even the other people in the boat. Listen to the sermon here or read it…

Fertilizer - SERMON

Our culture teaches us it's OK to laugh at violence, refuse to help those who suffer, and taunt those whom we don't value. It's normal, it's everyday, and it's evil. What should Christians do about it? Listen to the sermon here, or read it…

Plenty of Seeds - SERMON by Deacon Cindy Roehl

We hear that 3 of the 4 soils in which God's Word can be planted are bad places. What if we're bad soil? Not to worry! God has plenty of seeds and will keep casting them our way; God Spirit is also is working at the same time to transform us into rich soil. Listen to the sermon here.

The God of Immigrants - SERMON by Deacon Cindy Roehl

Happy 241st Birthday, America! What did Christopher Columbus, John Cabot and the Mayflower pilgrims all have in common? They all believed in God, of course, and they were, each and every one of them, immigrants. Listen to the sermon here.

Hey there, Becky. If you are ever in need of some delicious fresh coffee, let me know. We will ship it to you free of charge.

Would you like some coffee to take with you? I've been going back and forth on whether or not to give you some coffee to take with you. I'm sure you're using every spare space for things you'll need on your sabbatical. Be sure to let me know if you would like some fresh ground sumatra mandheling with which to start out your journey.

This is on a social web site called NING. They have templates, but I fussed around and created my own way of doing things, including the picture, some of the font alignments, that kind of thing. It's a good way of dipping one's toe in the web page waters.

Thank you. Is this another Facebook application or something you created? If you created this - wow.
